I have so far had excellent luck and you guys have given me great advise up to this point, so hopefully you can help me figure this newest one out. We will be travelling from Athens Aug.10th and looking to travel to anywhere within Croatia (preferably Dubrovonik or Split, whichever is cheapest). Time is not a gigantic concern but we are hoping to find the cheapest way there possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Well, you have a variety of options here, so it's even difficult to list all of them, but we can try:
a) bus/train from Athens to Patras, then ferry to Italy (Bari) and another ferry from there to Dubrovnik, same idea can be realized with Split as well. The whole journey will be a bit slow, but pretty nice due to ferry rides in Ionian & Adriatic seas
b) shortest route by land will be to go via Albania. There is plenty of buses from Athens to almost any town in Albania (also flights Athen-Tirana being available), so it's not a problem to catch one of them, for instance to Shkoder or Tirana (if you want to stop & see the capital), while then just get one of the buses from Shkoder to Montenegro (Ulcinj) and then another bus along the cost to Kotor/Herceg Novi and from there you can already catch direct buses to Dubrovnik
c) longer route, but avoiding Albania, would be to take a train from Athen to Thessaloniki, then bus to Skopje and then either direct bus to Montenegro or go by rail via Serbia
d) as well it is possible to travel by air, either directly to Dubrovnik or at least to get a flight from Athens to some place relatively close to Dubrovnik/Split. This way journey won't be cheap, but much faster than going just by land or sea

So we suggest you to take a look at all these different options, see what might be interesting for you and then we can expand & give more details for the option you prefer

Do you have any rough price estimates for the following options?
a) train Athens-Kiato + Greek Railways (OSE) bus to Patras would be roughly 15 euro or something like that, ferry companies as well offer their buses to bring passengers directly from Athens to the ferry terminal in Patras, guess price is more or less the same. Then price for a ferry Patras-Bari/Ancona can be found here (it's just one of the companies), while Jadrolinija Bari-Dubrovnik prices are here, Ancona-Split would be slightly cheaper
b) bus from Athens to Tirana hardly will be more than 40 euro, then another 5 or so euro to Shkoder and another 5-10 to Ulcinj. And something like 10-12 euro Ulcinj to Kotor/Herceg Novi + 10 euro from there to Dubrovnik
c) Athens to Thessaloniki by train (from 19 euro if purchased in advance), then Thessaloniki to Skopje by bus roughly 20 euro. Price of a ticket from Skopje to Montenegro depends on bus company and final destination, but let's say from 25 (Podgorica) to 35 euro (Kotor/Herceg Novi) + another 10 euro from there to Dubrovnik
d) well, for instance as of now on August 11 Serbian JAT Airways offer Athens-Belgrade-Dubrovnik for 180 euro with overnight stay in Belgrade, on August 12 you can get Athens-Belgrade-Tivat for 160 euro or Athens-Belgrade-Sarajevo for 160 euro on August 11 etc.
