Title: Berlin to Dresden
Post by: munchy on April 02, 2012, 01:05:18 pm
Hi
is there a Lander ticket that covers the train trip from Berlin to Dresden?
I have tried looking, but am a bit confused as I think 2 regions are covered in this journey.
If not, what would be the cheapest option - we are 4 adults.
I would very much appreciate any suggestions

Dresden is in Saxony, while Berlin formally is independent administrative entity, but in case of Lander tickets it's covered by joint Berlin-Brandenburg ticket, thus you'll either need two different lander tickets (which isn't a good idea) or alternatively all Germany Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket (http://www.bahn.com/i/view/DEU/en/prices/germany/quer-durchs-land-ticket.shtml), basically the same as Lander tickets, but covers the whole Germany. Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket works on week days, while for weekends you have even better all Germany ticket - Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket (http://www.bahn.com/i/view/DEU/en/prices/germany/schoenes-wochenende-ticket.shtml)
Time to time (meaning primarily promo tickets availability) also a bus can be an option. In this regard you can check for instance Berlin Linien (https://www.berlinlinienbus.de/zeiten.php)
