Travel plans, routes and timetables / euro rail pass or??
« on: November 02, 2012, 04:29:16 am »
Hi
i was going to be purchasing a 15 day global euro rail pass but in reviewing websites it would appear that many people are not happy with their services and there are surcharges?  So if i wasn't going to do the global pass.. what would our best bet be for the following itinerary?  It is for my daughter and I (she is 23) and we will always be travelling together

London to Paris
Paris to Munich (would like to take the overnight train and have our own cabin - for experience)
Munich to Strasberg
Strasberg to Kandersteg
Stay in Kandersteg for 4 days and would like to use bus or train travel to see a bit of switzerland
Kandersteg to Venice
Venice to Florence
Florence to Orvietto

We are in Orvietto for several days so was going to use the train to check out Rome and also to get to airport to fly back to Toronto from Rome (flying in to London, flying back from Rome)

Should we get a global pass?  the only days it would be nice to have a pass would be when we are in Switzerland and Italy - as there for several days?

thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions.. ;D
