Travel plans, routes and timetables / Re: Train route "Skopje - Pristina"
« on: November 08, 2016, 10:28:10 pm »
Is the text below last updated:
Skopje to Pristina via Urosevac/Ferizaj (# 891/892, Fast), runs daily 16:10-19:20 (NB: train change at the border, while ticket for the train can be bought only on board from conductors)"
Both Macedonian & Kosovo Railways have these trains in the most recent updates, so there shouldn't be any issues (2,50 euro for Kosovo part and about 100 MKD for Macedonian part)

How about Thesaloniki - Sofia? The Timetime show 2015/2016.
For now it's running, but haven't seen Greek/Bulgarian timetable after Dec.11, so no definite info regarding 2016/2017

I found an new connection: http://p.bdz.bg/v/a/varnaburgassofia-moskva-sofia-2503-6017.pdf
oh its just for 2016. Hopefully the operate 2017 to.
For those Russian carriages global price is used, so you'll have to pay 92 euro for Sofia-Bratislava 2/3, but again who knows what will happen to those through carriages (imho, here chance that they will be canceled is much higher than Thess.-Sofia)

the dont replay any email....
Perhaps you can try calling then? If it's within EU, then it shouldn't be super expensive

64
but the MAV write the Sparnight is not for Double or Single available.
You are right and indeed in some cases there is no spar for doubles/singles, however nobody forbids you to play small tricks - e.g. purchase two 54 euro spars (2/3) + buy only sleeper reservation for the third bed in the same compartment, it will be extra 18 euro, but you'll get your desired "double" ;)

65
The sell only 3 Bed Sleeping Car not 2 Bed or Single Bed.
So where do you ever see Double or Single Sleeping Bed SparNight?
During the off-season only seating carriage & couchette is available, but for the summer (2016.VI.13/14-ig és IX.6/7-től) they had sleeper as well.

Train fares and tariffs / Re: Laibach -> Triest via villa obcalina?

Well, looks better than Polskibus, but not as good as OeBB InterCity buses. Anyhow, it's good to have a choice, both bus/train & fares

CityStar OSE-MAV: here the best part is that you can purchase it not only till Budapest, but all the way to HU/SLO border (meaning for route Thess.-Belgrade-Budapest-Hodos (gr) & back). However the total price for such citystar for 4 passengers these days would be more than 400 euro + another five or so euro for the part from the border to Murska Sobota
Does anyone how much the OSE Sell there City Star?
OSE doesn't publish those fares, but as a rough estimate it should be about 160-170 euro (if you want the exact fare, then perhaps better to email OSE). Also might be possible to go with BDZ-MAV CityStars (available either via Serbia or Romania), those are a bit cheaper

Yep, bus is an option. However you probably shouldn't expect 1st class comfort from those lowcost bus companies

Where are you getting these numbers?
from the same Page.
Ok, misunderstanding seems to be in the fact that you've searched for 1st class fare, while I was looking at 2nd class ))) So if you indeed want to travel with 1st class (and extra train change in Divaca), then fares you've quoted are right. With ICS 1st class Maribor-Ljubljana + Ljubljana-Sezana 2nd class it will cost you 33+ euro.
SCIC-NRT 1st class ticket Maribor-Villa Opicina is 75 euro, however no 1st class on Divaca-Sezana-Villa Opicina part

The say there are no offers: http://elvira.mav-start.hu/gyik.htm#jegyajanlataink
That's the list of offers which are sold online via MAV website. Certain offers can be bought only at the MAV ticket counter ;)

For Bud.-Sofia details see https://mavcsoport.hu/mav-start/nemzetkozi-utazas/bulgaria-szofia (only in Hungarian unfortunately)

Maribor - Laibach ICS 24,21 €
Laibach - Divača IC 13,35 €
Divača - Sežana 1,28 €
+1€
39,84€
Where are you getting these numbers? You should check Slovenian Railways (SZ) website (www.slo-zeleznice.si/en), Maribor to Ljubljana with ICS is 16+ euro, Maribor-Ljubljna-Sezana (22,39 with ICS on Maribor-Ljubljana leg), Maribor-Ljubljna-Sezana is 15,81 (if you don't use ICS trains)

International Fare cost more?
Standard full fare SCIC-NRT ticket Maribor-Villa Opicina should be 50+ euro

72
the MAV have discount Tickets for that Train?!
Why not? It seems to be MAV's politics to have either discounted offer or some discount from the regular international tariff for pretty much any direct connection from Hungary.

I searched online and the chepast way (Vienna -> Athen) was an City Star: https://www.mavcsoport.hu/mav-start/nemzetkozi-utazas/ervenyes-dijszabasok
for 206€ (1Class is Required for Single Sleeping Car).
Well, cheapest option kind of depends on additional nuances (e.g. whether you want to make stopover on the way, for how long you'll be staying at the destination point, whether you can purchase your tickets in advance, etc.)

General Discussion / Re: aol.de -> no Activation Mail
« on: October 23, 2016, 09:10:35 pm »
Hi! Thanks for informing. Unfortunately sometimes there are problems with the activation email, it either goes to spam folder or never arrives at all, we'll try to look into it.

Train fares and tariffs / Re: Laibach -> Triest via villa obcalina?

Maribor 12:48 S2 17
Ljubljana 14:38

Ljubljana 17:45 IC 509
Divaca 19:17

Divaca 20:33 R 1762
Villa Opicina 20:55

The Slowenian Webpage say 35€ - 40€. Is that true?
Hmm? Which Slovenian webpage? It's way too much, since Maribor-Sežana (last Slovenian station before the border) is 22,39 euro with use of pendolino or 15,81 euro with regional trains, while Sežana-Villa Opicina is only 1 euro (or even free for some passengers, see http://www.slo-zeleznice.si/sl/potniki/tujina/italija/opcine )

And is there an Railplus Discount because i travel internationally Sezana -> Villa Opicina?
Yes, but it's way cheaper to "break" the ticket via Sežana. Absolutely no point to overpay for international ticket for the entire route

Travel plans, routes and timetables / Re: Albania train travel
« on: October 17, 2016, 12:57:45 pm »
Traveling by train in Albania is tricky, however it's not really "not recommended" type. You just need to be ready to spend extra time on your journey, otherwise it's pretty interesting experience, especially for a rail fan. What concerns the timetable... well, Albanian Railways have problems informing potential passengers about the matter (e.g. the timetable they have on the website dates all the way back to May 2015), but a fellow traveler sent us HSH timetable sheet from last summer, thus it possible to assume that the same schedule is still valid. According to it, you can't travel between Vlorë and Shkodër directly, however one can do it with change in Durrës (Vlorë-Durrës 5:45-10:45, then spend couple hours there and Durrës-Shkodër 13:00-16:45), obviously it doesn't seem like an ideal option for 200 km route, but in case it's too long for you, then maybe you can simply use the train only on one leg (i.e. Vlorë-Durrës or Durrës-Shkodër) and go with (mini)bus on the other one, it will definitely save you a lot of time.
