Title: Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan
Post by: Direct-Orient on January 27, 2013, 01:56:17 am
Last year, an elektrichka (ED9M IIRC) was operating a daytime service on Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan, a welcome alternative to the slow, lower-tier night train.

This daytime service is now neither displayed by Hafas or RZD. Has it been scrapped or is just not bookable online?

From what we found out, first it used to be standard suburban train, then few years ago it was turned in suburban train of "higher comfort" (tickets bought as for any other long-distance train) №815/816 N.Novgorod-Kazan, while last year it was again made into regular suburban train №6825 (15:45-22:57). But now it seems it was shortened till Arzamas, since RZD shows train with same №6825 and departure time, but only as connection N.Novgorod-Arzamas 2. Also at the same time there is evening train from Sergach/Kanash to Kazan, but leg Arzamas-Sergach/Kanash is without necessary connection, so it's not even possible to travel with changes
