Train fares and tariffs / Cheapest way from Zurich to Cochem (Mosel) please?

After organising our UK and Europe trip totally by my self, another senior lady and I are left with very little money, and the need to get as cheaply as possible from Zurich to Cochem (Mosel).  I must admit to finding the train sites very difficult though, and really would appreciate some help with this,

Travel plans, routes and timetables / Train from Zurich to Bernkastel-Kues to Rome.

I am a real novice to Europe train travel and wonder if the trip above is feasible. I want to leave Zurich 25 May 2010, and arrive in bernkastel the next day. We are booked into accomodation the nights of 26/27 May. So then want a train leaving 28 May, arriving preferably the folling day as our apartment is not vacant until the 29th.
I have mild mobility problems and use a stick, and know there will be many changes on those two routes, but find air travel stressful as well. Plus I would like to see at least a bit of the scenery as I travel.
My friend and I are pensioners so the budget is tight also.
I know the prices arent available yet on line but does anyone have any idea how much all this will cost?
