hello again,

now i have made some plans for the tour:

can anybody help me with the prices?
We (two adults)are looking forward to some main answers, but i know that the price depends on the "art of sleeping", we want to mix beetween low and middle low. ;)

We start from Vienna airport, the bus to Bratislava to catch the train at 23:40 to Michalovce (27,40 euro/pp in couchette)on the 07 of august.
At 7:09 in Michalovce we want to buy the CityStar ticket > 1500km and then cross the boarder, (any tips?) to cath the train leaving Uzhgorod at 14:41(100Л).  7 1/2 hours should be enough for that?

In Kiev we are planning to take the 022K leaving at 07:19 to be in moscow on the 09th at 06:16. Is it cheaper to split the route as suggested?   Were can we leave the luggage for the day? Does anybody know a nice banja/hammam in the centre of the city?

From Moscow we go to Kazan with the 050M leaving at 19:20 to arrive at 08:26 on the 10th of august.
On the 12th to Yekaterinburg with the 140H at 16:58 to be there at 10:44 the next day(13.08).

Yekaterinburg - Vladiwostok with the 240Э to be there on the 18th of August at 00:22.

And now the master question: Is it possible to leave Vladiwostok the same day at 22:30 in the 001M?
Because our flight from moscow is on the 25.08 and we want to make  a stop in Nizhny Novgorod on the 24.08 to be there just in time  and not taking a hotel in capital city..

If possible give  a cheapest option and one wich is about 500 euros more expensive if possible ;D
thanks a lot in advance

Ok, the plan sounds a bit illogical for a few reasons: a) with CityStars ZSSK-RZD number of km in Slovak part isn't an issue, thus CityStar Bratislava-Vladivostok (meaning RZD>1500km=248 EUR for two passengers) will be the same price as Michalovce-Vladivostok, so why then no to buy it already from Bratislava? b) there is no passenger rail connection between Michalovce and Uzhgorod, passenger trains run only on part Cierna-nad-Tisou-Chop, so in order to get to Cierna from Bratislava you need to get off in Kosice and change there for other train to Cierna (it goes via different line, then the one continuing from Kosice to Michalovce, see Slovak rail network map)

In case of cross-border segment Cierna-Chop you basically have only a choice out of two connections per day (either 14:10-15:52 or 22:44-00:30). With the later one goes direct carriage Bratislava-Moscow, which is another thing for you to consider, since it allows you just to buy sleeper Bratislava-Moscow for 24 EUR (or Kosice-Moscow few euro cheaper, or even Bratislava-Kyiv in case you definitely want to stop in Ukraine). Imho, use of this direct carriage will help your to avoid issues concerning crossing border Slovakia-Ukraine and further buying sleeper reservation for UZ domestic train from Uzhgorod/Chop. Basically you will have a CityStar and sleeper reservation up till Moscow and don't worry about any connections/train changes

Just for the sake of info, from Michalovce you can catch direct buses to Uzghorod. A few in the morning, only hour and half travel time and 2.5 EUR

In Kiev we are planning to take the 022K leaving at 07:19 to be in moscow on the 09th at 06:16.
Hmm??? First of all, train #22 dep.Kyiv at 16:17 currently (arr. to Moscow 6:16am). Second, there will be timetable change in Ukraine and Russia at the end of May, so the schedule itself might as well change (previous summer #22 train was running, if we not mistaking, everyday the whole summer, but who knows what will be this summer). And third, it's one of the very few RZD trains, thus East-West sleeper reservation (need as addition to your CityStar) for #22 train is basically 3 times more than for any UZ train, so it might make sense to reconsider the choice of train from Kyiv.
Were can we leave the luggage for the day?
At Kyiv-Pass. they have luggage storage (both automatic and person taking it in), so shouldn't be a problem. Both are under the station in the basement, at opposite wings.
Well, first of all remember potential timetable change in Russia. Doubt trains will be canceled, but some changes are possible. Regarding the question, East-West sleeper reservation 2/4 ('kupe') Moscow-Kazan roughly 50 EUR per passenger, for Kazan-Yekaterinburg just a few euro more, Yekaterinburg - Vladivostok is 215 EUR. Vladivostok-N.Novgorod is 225 EUR and N.Novgorod-Moscow is 33 EUR.
Is it possible to leave Vladiwostok the same day at 22:30 in the 001M?
Why it shouldn't be possible? But it's going to be rather a lot of time on the train :) And also consider the time difference, since Vladivostok is +7 to Moscow, thus you'll arrive in the morning and depart basically next morning, so technically in Vladivostok it will be the next day (N.B. trains in Russia run by Moscow time only and all the dep/arr. times are Moscow time)

Next let's look at the option 'without CityStar' (all fares per passenger*)
Bratislava-Michalovce (20,33 EUR) + Michalovce-Uzhgorod bus (2.5 EUR) + Uzhgorod-Kyiv #100 (95 UAH 'platskarnyi' or 150 UAH 'kupe') + Kyiv-Moscow #22 (410 UAH 'platskarnyi' and 735 UAH 'kupe') + Moscow-Kazan #50 (870 RUB 'platskarnyi' and 2150 RUB 'kupe') + Kazan-Yekaterinburg #140 (940 RUB 'platskarnyi' and 2350 RUB 'kupe') + Yekaterinburg-Vladivostok #240 (4340 RUB 'platskarnyi' and 11850 RUB or 14150 RUB (with additional service like food) 'kupe') + Vladivostok-N.Novgorod #1 (7300 RUB 'platskarnyi' and 19200 RUB or 21800 RUB (with additional service like food) 'kupe') and N.Novgorod-Moscow (roughly 900 RUB 'platskarnyi' and 2000 RUB 'kupe')

* for UZ and RZD it's current fares, but during the peak-season (like August) fares will be a bit more due to higher coefficient

the same price as Michalovce-Vladivostok, so why then no to buy it already from Bratislava? ?
We will be at night in Bratislava and the office will be closed. We will buy the ticket for the train to Michalovce on the train as someone from the slovak train company considered.
Does it make sense to buy sleeper till Kyiv? Do we get it on the train.

Basically you will have a CityStar and sleeper reservation up till Moscow and don't worry about any connections/train changes.?
We reconsider and will take the 016ЛВ  leaving Kyiv at 20:40 (local time. All times were local just to make sure that i planned it right, i got them from here: https://www.realrussia.co.uk/trains/schedule/

Well, first of all remember potential timetable change in Russia.
It is only a plan, the fixed times are the flight to vienna and the 2 nights in Kazan and the flight from moscow to Düsseldorf.

Is it possible to leave Vladiwostok the same day at 22:30 in the 001M?
Why it shouldn't be possible? ?
The rules of City star are "stay one night at the ending/return point of your journey"? Is this wrong?

But it's going to be rather a lot of time on the train :)?
Yes !Our asses will be flat as some bleenis..

thanks a lot

Well, Customer centre will be closed, but does all the ticket counters as well? It's been long time since we visited Bratislava station around 22-23 o'clock, but doubt that everything will be closed, since there is quite a few trains (including international ones) departing late. And regular ticket counters as well equipped with access to KVC. Anyway, maybe best thing to do is just email ZSSK directly and ask whether it will be possible to buy CityStar at Bratislva Hl. in the evening.
We will buy the ticket for the train to Michalovce...
Just a reminder again, from Michalovce there is no rail connection to Ukraine, thus in case you want to travel fully by train, then you'll need to get off in Kosice and continue towards Cierna.
Does it make sense to buy sleeper till Kyiv? Do we get it on the train.
Moscow-Bratislava (via Kyiv) carriage dep.Bratislava 13:57, so in order to catch it you'll need to spend night in Bratislava. As far as we know, in theory you can buy a sleeper reservation for international connection from the conductor, but in practice it might be not the best idea, anyway, if you decide to use this carriage, then you can buy reservation elsewhere (even in Germany or in Bratislava in the morning)
...just to make sure that i planned it right, i got them from here
Well, that's an agency website, so better to rely on official RZD info instead. New UZ/RZD timetable should be available almost fully around late April/early May, so why don't you remind us then and we will recheck with RZD 'Ekspress' system directly and post here all the necessary timetables you might need ;)
The rules of City star are "stay one night at the ending/return point of your journey"? Is this wrong?
Where did you read that? We heard about weekend rule in case of some CityStars (need to spend night from Saturday to Sunday at the destination), but overnight rule? At least ZSSK page doesn't list any such limitation and don't remember hearing about it from anyone. Maybe again better to recheck with ZSSK directly.
