Train travel in Albania: train schedules, fares & other useful info
National Train Service:
Albanian Railways (HSh) are not offering a variety of different train types, so when traveling in Albania by train it is possible to meet just one type of train - ordinary "trenit"
Due to various reasons rail network & passenger rail service in Albania are quite limited and passenger service is "alive" only on a some major lines & routes (from Tirana to Durres, Tirana to Shkoder, Tirana to Vlore via Rrogozhine etc.), but at the same time taking a train in Albania is very cheap since HSh ticket fares are very low and inexpensive compared to other European countries
Since it is a bit difficult to find train schedules for trains in Albania, we publish here current (updated May 2013) Albanian Railway (HSh) timetables:

International Train Service:
Currently there are no international trains originating or transiting Albanian territory (although Albania is connected by rail with Montenegro, while line to Kosovo & FYR Macedonia are being projected)
How to Purchase Train Tickets in Albania:
Currently it is not possible to purchase Albanian train tickets online via HSh or any other website website, so potential passengers will have to visit ticket counter
